Build a Life One Woman’s Behavior Can’t Control

She takes longer than usual to reply and your whole mood changes.
Now you’re checking the phone, replaying the last conversation and wondering what you did wrong.
When one woman’s attention decides whether you have a good day, you’ve handed her control of your mood. She didn’t even have to ask for it.
That reaction is common. It doesn’t mean you’re broken. But it is your responsibility to fix.
THE PROBLEM ISN’T HER PHONE
Maybe she’s busy. Maybe her interest changed. Maybe you’ll hear from her tonight.
You don’t know yet, and staring at the screen won’t improve your information.
The bigger problem is how much space one person has taken up in your life before either of you has made a commitment.
I’ve over-invested in one woman before. I know how quickly your mind can turn a few promising moments into a future that doesn’t exist. Then you’re protecting an imaginary relationship instead of paying attention to the real one.
BUILD A LIFE THAT CAN HOLD ITS OWN
Take care of your health. Do work you’re proud of. Spend time with friends and family. Develop interests that get you out of the house and around other people.
When your life is empty, one woman becomes the entire plot. When your life is full, she becomes one part of it. An important part, if she earns that place, but still one part.
A wife should add to a good life. She shouldn’t be asked to rescue you from one you don’t enjoy.
KEEP CHOOSING
Having options doesn’t mean collecting women or keeping backups. It means continuing to meet people until you and one woman have both chosen a committed relationship.
Don’t promote someone to future wife after two good dates. Learn who she is. Watch whether her actions match her words. Decide whether she wants the same marriage and family you want.
And if her effort fades, don’t chase harder. Let her behavior give you the answer.
TAKE YOUR ATTENTION BACK
Put the phone down. Return to your day. Keep building your life and meeting people.
Her attention is welcome. It is not life support.
