What Waiting Until You Feel Ready Is Costing You

Waiting can look very responsible.
Get in better shape. Earn more money. Take better pictures. Finish one more project. Become more confident.
Planning is useful. But planning can also become a respectable hiding place.
I don’t think preparation is the problem. Endless preparation is. At some point you’re no longer getting ready to date. You’re getting very good at avoiding it.
READY ISN’T A FINISH LINE
You will never reach a day when every insecurity is gone, every part of your life is handled and talking to a woman you want feels completely safe.
No one from the Department of Personal Readiness is coming to hand you a certificate.
Confidence isn’t permission to begin. It is what grows after you begin and discover that you can handle the discomfort.
WAITING COSTS MORE THAN TIME
Every month you wait is a month without conversations, dates or the experience that tells you what needs work.
You stay uncertain because you aren’t collecting new information. Then you use that uncertainty as the reason to keep waiting.
That is the loop.
The cost is also the life that doesn’t get built. No woman to come home to. No marriage taking shape. No children in the next room. Not because those things were impossible, but because you kept postponing the part where you meet someone.
PREPARE FOR A STARTING DATE
Preparation should lead to action. Give it a finish point.
Fix the biggest obvious problem. Take three decent pictures. Write a profile that shows your real life. Find one place where you can meet new people.
Then start.
You can improve the profile after someone sees it. You can get better at conversation after you begin having conversations. You can learn what you need in a wife after you meet enough women to recognize the difference.
DO ONE REAL THING
Update the profile. Attend the event. Start the conversation. Ask the woman out.
Pick one and do it this week.
You don’t need the perfect feeling. You need the first action.
